Scouting Pacific
The Tigers defeated Yale to improve to 3-1 on the season. Anaya James paced the offense with a season-high 20 points. The Tigers outscored the Bulldogs 25-13 in the fourth quarter to move to 3-0 at home for the first time since 2019. Head Coach Bradley Davis is in his ninth season Pacific. This year's team was picked third in the WCC and senior guard Liz Smith was included on the All-WCC Preseason Team. Smith leads the team with her 16.3 scoring average. She rarely leaves the court and is also the team leader in assists.

Scouting St. Thomas
The Tommies tied their longest win streak (of their DI era) on Tuesday evening with a 74-60 victory at Saint Mary's. Jo Langbehn led the offense with a 19-point performance. She only missed one shot (9-10) while adding five rebounds and a steal. The Tommies lost their opener at Drake but got back on track with wins against River Falls and Utah Valley. Head Coach Ruth Sinn returns three starters from last year's team and were picked to finish eighth in the Summit League Preseason Poll.

All-Time Series
Butler has never played Pacific or St. Thomas before this season.

A Look Back
Butler won two games last year at the Florida Atlantic Thanksgiving Tournament in Boca Raton. They defeated Sacred Heart 64-39 the day after Thanksgiving and topped Binghamton 78-51 on day two of the tournament.

100-Point Club
Butler scored 100 points in a regular season game on Monday for the first time since Dec. 12, 2010! Every Bulldog scored at least two points in the victory and three players reached a double figure scoring total.

First Time in A Long Time
Butler notched a 30-point win over their opponent on Monday for the first time since Nov. 17, 2019. The 'Dawgs also shot over 90 percent from the free throw line for the first time since Feb. 16, 2020.

Kid's Day Game
Butler played Roosevelt in front of 2,626 fans on Monday afternoon as the Bulldogs welcomed over 1,000 kids to Hinkle Fieldhouse for their Kids Day Game. Butler partnered with the NCAA's Readers Become Leaders Program to bring in students from the surrounding elementary schools. BU nearly set a new single-game attendance record that day, approaching the crowd that came on Jan. 12, 2022 when the UConn Huskies visited Indianapolis (2,772). There have been over 1,000 fans at each Butler home game this year.

3-1 Start
Butler is off to their best start to a season since 2019-20. That year, BU won their first four games of the year on their way to a 19-11 overall record.

Winning Recipe
The Bulldogs are aiming to win on the road for the first time this season on Friday when they play at Pacific. Keys to the game for BU include having three players score in double figures, keeping the opponent under 70 points, and getting production off the bench.

California Dreamin'
The Butler women's basketball program has not played a game in the state of California since 2012. That year, BU traveled to Moraga, Calif. to make up the tournament field along with host Saint Mary's and Portland State. They lost each game in 2012 but split a pair of games in the same tournament during 2005, getting a win over Central Florida.

Kent Reaches 1,300 Career Points
Rachel Kent scored six points vs. Roosevelt to pass 1,300 career points. Her veteran presence in the locker room has been welcomed as the rest of the team combines for just 1,646 points.

Strande Continues to Score
Caroline Strande has led Butler in scoring in two of their four games this year and has been the top rebounder for BU in three of four contests. She scored a career-high 21 points in the win over Austin Peay and had 18 in her last start vs. Roosevelt. Over 33 games at BU, Strande has scored in double figures 13 times.

Career Milestones
Kendall Wingler is just one 3-pointer shy of 100, three rebounds shy of 200, and seven assists away from 100 in her collegiate career. Sydney Jaynes on the other hand had four assists in her last game to top 100 career assists (102). She and Kent are the only players on the roster with 100+ assists in their careers.

Behind The Arc
The Bulldogs have made at least six 3-point field goals in every game this season. A year ago, BU made six or more triples 22 times in the span of 30 games. The team caught fire seven times in 2022-23, hitting 10 or more 3-pointers in a single game. They did that for the first time this year with 13 made 3-pointers in their last game vs. Roosevelt. The school single-game team 3-point record is 16. It was set at Georgetown on Jan. 11, 2014.

3-Point Threat
The Bulldogs led the BIG EAST Conference and ranked eighth in the NCAA in 3-point field goal percentage during the 2022-23 season by making 37.6 percent of their shots from distance. Butler made 227 3-pointers, the fourth-most in the league. They averaged 7.6 made 3-pointers per game, tying DePaul for the second-best mark in the conference.
