Scouting Bradley
The Braves spent Thanksgiving in Atlanta playing in the 2023 Georgia State Classic. In a 1-1 week, Bradley topped Elon 66-59, but fell to Bethune-Cookman 64-57. The split moved their overall record to 2-3. Head Coach Kate Popovec-Goss took over the program before the start of 2022-23 season. The Braves only managed to win four games last year, but they improved their roster with five newcomers. Junior Kayleen Nelson leads the Braves with her 15.6 scoring average and freshman Halli Pooch comes off the bench to score 10.8 points per night. Nelson scored 31 points in the season opener but was held to just two in her last start.

All-Time Series
Butler leads the all-time series over Bradley 5-3. The first-ever meeting came in the Northwestern Roger L. White Invitational at the start of the 1993 season. Butler edged Bradley 65-64. The last meeting was also a close game with BU defeating the Braves 58-56 inside Hinkle Fieldhouse during the 2016 campaign. Bradley's first win over Butler came in the 2002 season opener. They won 71-65 in Peoria. The Bulldogs played at Bradley again in 2003 and defeated the Braves 68-54.

A Look at Last Week
Butler went 2-1 last week with a home contest Monday followed by a trip to California to play a pair of games at the Tiger Turkey Tip-Off. Butler averaged 82 points per game over that stretch, shooting 50 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3-point range. Caroline Strande and Jordan Meulemans averaged 14 points per game to lead the 'Dawgs. Those two accounted for 18 of Butler's 36 made 3-pointers. Strande was also the top rebounder on the team (7.7) helping BU be +13 in rebound margin.

100-Point Club
Butler scored 108 points vs. Franklin College in exhibition action and then moved into the regular season to score 104 points in a win over Roosevelt. It was the first time BU topped 100 points in a regular season game since Dec. 12, 2010! The Bulldogs joined the UConn Huskies as the only two BIG EAST teams to reach 100 points this season.

Meg's Stars
Jordan Meulemans was one of five BIG EAST players selected by Meghan Caffrey last week for her Meg's Stars list. Meulemans shot 80% from 3-point range vs. St. Thomas and was just one 3-pointer shy of tying the Butler single-game school record. She made 13 total 3-pointers last week, shooting 72 percent from downtown.

3-Point Threats
Jordan Meulemans drained eight triples vs. St. Thomas, matching the single-game high in the BIG EAST this season, while the Bulldogs made 16 as a team, the most by a conference team this year. The best shooting performance of the season by any BIG EAST student-athlete belongs to Riley Makalusky. She made seven of her eight triples against Roosevelt (87.5%).

Behind The Arc
The Bulldogs have made at least six 3-point field goals in every game this season. A year ago, BU made six or more triples 22 times in 30 games. The team caught fire seven times in 2022-23, hitting 10 or more 3-pointers. Butler hit 13 3-pointers in the win over Roosevelt to reach double digits for the first time this season and most recently tied the single-game team record with 16 made 3-pointers in the win over St. Thomas.

Shot Selection
The top four scorers on Butler's roster all shoot over 40% from the field, and three of the four are shooting 40 percent or better from 3-point range (Strande, Meulemans, Jaynes).

Alright Ari
Ari Wiggins has nine assists and just three turnovers over Butler's last three games.

Career Milestones
Kendall Wingler hit a 3-pointer at Pacific to move her career total to 100. The BU senior also grabbed four rebounds while in California to reach 200 career rebounds. Wingler's next milestone will be in the assist column. She needs four more assists to reach 100. Caroline Strande needs three free throws to reach 100 and 10 rebounds to get to 200 in her collegiate career.

Winning Recipe
The Bulldogs are 3-0 this year when they are up at the half and when they allow less than 60 points. Bradley averages 63 points per game and have not topped 66 points this season. They are also 0-2 when trailing at the half.

Hinkle Magic
The Bulldogs are 3-0 at home this season with victories over Detroit Mercy, Austin Peay, and Roosevelt. Butler is +35 against foes in the second quarter when playing at Hinkle this season. Kendall Wingler averages six points per contest but ups her average to 10 points per game when playing at home. BU is building off last year when six of their 11 wins were recorded at home.

Knock Out the Non-Conference
Butler only has five games scheduled in December with three of the five being played at home. The only conference opponent lined up before the start of 2024 is a road game at #11 UConn. Last year, Butler played eight games in December with five of those coming against BIG EAST foes. They played four games in the span of 10 days from Dec. 2-11.

Up Next
Butler will battle a Big Ten opponent on Sunday when they visit Wisconsin for a 1 PM ET tip. Action inside the Kohl Center will stream on BigTenPlus.com. The Badgers are 4-2 at the start of the season and will host Northern Illinois on Wednesday night.
