Scouting Wisconsin
The Badgers are 5-2 overall after defeating Northern Illinois on Wednesday night. Five UW players scored in double figures to keep Wisconsin undefeated at the Kohl Center (4-0). The balanced scoring attack paired with a 16-0 run midway through the second quarter kept the Badgers in control. Head Coach Marisa Moseley has a nice 1-2 punch on the roster with Ronnie Porter on the perimeter and Serah Williams inside. No Big Ten student-athlete plays more minutes than Ronnie Porter. She leads the Big Ten and ranks ninth in the NCAA with 24 steals. Williams leads the Big Ten and ranks seventh in the country in blocked shots (20). She is also the fifth-best rebounder in the conference (7.7)

All-Time Series
Wisconsin is 3-1 all-time against Butler. The two teams met for the first time in Coconut Grove, Florida as participants in the Sonesta Thanksgiving Classic. The Badgers won that contest 61-46 and would move to 2-0 in the all-time series with a 68-48 win over Butler in the 2011 WNIT. Butler's second loss at Wisconsin came during the 2016-17 season (60-55). They found the win column in the last matchup the following year inside Hinkle Fieldhouse 69-62.

Last Win vs. the Big Ten
Butler's last win over a Big Ten opponent came on Dec. 20, 2018 against Ohio State. The Bulldogs and the Buckeyes played in the opening game of the West Palm Invite. BU won the contest 66-53.

Best in the BIG EAST
Butler leads the BIG EAST in bench points per game (23.1), and 3-pointers made per game (9.0). The team is 4-0 this season when their bench outscores the opponent bench. The 'Dawgs have also shot the ball very well from distance over the last two weeks. Butler made 13 3-pointers vs. Roosevelt, 16 vs. St. Thomas and 10 most recently against Bradley.

Defense Leading to Offense
Butler has recorded 10 steals in each of their last two games. Ari Wiggins leads the team and ranks fifth in the conference in steals (15).

Season-Best Stats vs. Bradley
Butler had a season-low 10 turnovers vs. Bradley and were able to defend the Braves without fouling. The Bulldogs were only whistled for seven fouls on Wednesday night their lowest foul total of 2023. Those two stats helped Butler limit Bradley to just 46 points, the lowest point total of any opponent this year.

Nice Job in November
Butler recorded five wins during the month of November for the first time since 2019. That year the Bulldogs won their first four games and moved on to the month of December with a 5-2 record. A year ago, in his first season with the program, Parkinson guided BU to a 4-2 record during the first month of the season.

Homecoming
Caroline Strande (Racine), Jordan Meulemans (De Pere), and Anna Mortag (Milwaukee) are all from Wisconsin. Strande and Meulemans went to high school about two hours away from Madison and Mortag was closer to one. Strande has scored 17 or more points in five of Butler's seven games, Meulemans is the top 3-point shooter on the team with 21 makes from behind the arc and the Bulldogs are still waiting on Mortag to make her season debut.

3-Point Threats
Jordan Meulemans shot 80% from distance and drained eight triples vs. St. Thomas, matching the single-game high in the BIG EAST this season, while the Bulldogs made 16 as a team, the most by a conference team this year. Meulemans was just one 3-pointer shy of tying the single-game individual record and the 'Dawgs tied the team record.

Shot Selection
Four of Butler's five starters are shooting over 40 percent from the field at the start of the season. Jordan Meulemans and Sydney Jaynes are over 50 percent while Strande and Wiggins hover near 45 percent from the field. Jaynes, Strande and Meulemans also shoot 40 percent or better from behind the arc.

Alright Ari
Ari Wiggins has 13 assists and just four turnovers over Butler's last four games. A two-way talent, Wiggins is also an excellent on-ball defender with 11 steals over this stretch.

Career Milestones
Kendall Wingler needs one assist at Wisconsin to reach 100 in her collegiate career. Caroline Strande needs two free throws to reach 100 and four rebounds to get to 200 in her career.

Winning Recipe
The Bulldogs are undefeated this year when three or more players score in double figures and when they keep their opponent under 60 points. The BU team defense will be tested in Madison as Wisconsin averages 68 points per game and have a balanced offensive attack that includes six players averaging between eight and 14 points.

Knock Out the Non-Conference
Butler only has five games scheduled in December with three of the five being played at home. The only conference opponent lined up before the start of 2024 is a road game at #11 UConn. Last year, Butler played eight games in December with five of those coming against BIG EAST foes. They played four games in the span of 10 days from Dec. 2-11.
