Butler Tops Chicago State 84-51

INDIANAPOLIS Caroline Strande scored a career-high 22 points and Jordan Meulemans led all players with 23 points as the Bulldogs defeated the Chicago State Cougars by the finals score of 84-51. BU will be off all next week for final exams and will return to action with the BIG EAST opener at #17 UConn.
 
Meulemans got off to a fast start, scoring six of Butler's first 12 points of the contest. The 'Dawgs led 19-15 after the first quarter and would end the first half on a 9-0 scoring run to take a 40-31 lead into the half.
 
The opening five minutes of the second half set the tone for the rest of the game as BU outscored Chicago State 16-4. They led CSU by 21 heading into the final 10 minutes and would end the game with a 34-point victory.

Up Next
The BIG EAST opener is up next for the Bulldogs. Butler will travel to #17 UConn to face the Huskies in Hartford on Dec. 18.
