The Bulldogs wrapped up the opening weekend of the 2023-24 indoor track and field season by testing themselves against the nation's best at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.

The event was hosted by Boston University Saturday.Â

Top performances by the Bulldogs included:
- Jesse Hamlin ran to a 25th-place finish in the 3,000 meters, crossing the line in a time of 8:00.19. Teammate David Slapak clocked a time of 8:08.40 to finish 42nd. Northern Arizona's Nico Young won the event in a time of 7:37.73.Â
- Wiktoria Klebowska finished 86th-place in the 5,000 meters, posting a time of 16:31.17. Teammate Elsa Rusthoven ran to an 89th-place finish, clocking a time of 16:32.90. Florida's Parker Valby won the event with a time of 14:56.11.Â
- Matthew Forrester completed an 81st-place finish in the 5,000 meters, with a time of 13:58.76. Harvard's Graham Blanks won the event with a time of 13:03.78.Â

The Bulldogs will return to action Friday at the Indiana Early Bird Meet in Bloomington, Ind. That will be the last meet for Butler before the turning of the calendar.
