Butler Swimming Sets Three School Records on Wednesday

– The Bulldogs ended the first night of the 2023 BIG EAST Swim and Dive Championships presented by Jeep in a tie for fourth place with 100 points! Butler set three school records on Wednesday and are only 10 points out of second place.
 
Caroline Zimner, Kate Schilling, Elizabeth Naylor and Avery Piel set a new Butler school record in the 800 Free Relay with a time of 7:33.78. Zimner's leadoff of 1:51.62 set the school record in the 200 Free and Butler would earn fifth place with the finish.
 
The 200 Medley Relay team made up of Alani Hightower-Bend, Emily Landwehr, Abigail Roberts, and Olivia Stotts also set a school record for BU. That unit posted a time of 1:43.80 to place fifth in the event.
 
Day two will begin at 10 a.m. ET with the prelims of the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and women's 3-meter diving. The finals will begin at 5:45 p.m., with the 200 freestyle relay closing out the night
