East Meadow, N.Y. – The Bulldogs are in sixth place after three days of competition in the 2023 BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships presented by JEEP. Butler had a strong day on Friday and highlighted the meet with multiple final swims. BU is currently in front of Providence and behind Seton Hall with one-day left.

Caroline Zimner set a new school record in the 400 IM on Friday. She placed sixth with a time of 4:24.37.
Sadie Brown also came up with a great time in the 400 IM to rank second all-time on the BU Top Ten List. She won the B Final clocking in at 4:25.52.

Kate Schilling swam in the 100 Fly Final on Friday and took eighth place. She moved to second all-time at Butler with a 55.34 time in the prelims.
Abigail Roberts also competed with a time of 58.89.

Butler had two swimmers in the 200 Free.
Elizabeth Naylor placed 22nd (1:55.03) and
Issy Petersen finished in 24th Place (1:56.67).

Emily Landwehr continued to impress the Bulldog faithful in New York. She finished 12th in the 100 Breast to move to second all-time at Butler clocking in at 1:04.89.
Alexa Vota (1:06.52, 18th Place),
Ava McGonigle (1:08.20, 21st Place) and
Jamie Gindorf (1:08.25, 23rd Place) also swam in the event.

Alani Hightower-Bend led Butler in the 100 Back. She reached the A Final and placed eighth with a time of 56.99.

The day came to a close with the Bulldogs setting a new team record in the 400 Medley Relay.

The fourth and final day begins at 10 a.m. ET with the prelims of the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and the 3-meter dive. The diving prelims will begin at 1 p.m. The timed finals for the 1650 free will kick off at 3:15 p.m. The finals of the 400 free relay will close out the 2022 BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Championships.
