BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell Camels scored 11 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a commanding lead over Butler and win game two of the series 25-6. Butler scored five runs in the top of the second, but would only score one more run the rest of the way.
Dominic Milano,
Billy Wurch, and
Carter Dorighi all picked up RBIs in the second to put BU in front.
Joey Urban would expand the lead with a two RBI triple and the Bulldogs were in business with a 5-1 lead.
Campbell tied the game at 5-5 and would eventually lead 6-5 after the fourth. BU pulled even with an RBI double from
Garret Gray in the fifth, but the final stages of the contest belonged to the home team.
Arnold hit a three-run homer in the fifth to give the Camels the lead and 11 runs in the seventh for Campbell would seal the deal.
Butler used seven players on the mound Saturday and
Luke Zmolik would take the loss.
Shane Kilfoyle got the start and tossed one inning.
Cole Graverson and
Cade Thune were on the mound the most going two plus.
Chance Daquila improved to 2-0 on the mound for Campbell. He struck out five over five frames.
