Butler posted a 13
th-place finish at the Rio Verde Invitational. The 54-hole event, hosted by Western Michigan and contested in Arizona, concluded Sunday.

The Bulldogs posted a team score of 308 (+20) in Sunday's final round, climbing one spot on the leaderboard from where they entered the fray earlier in the day. Butler opened the tournament with rounds of 303 and 314 to post a 54-hole total of 925 (+61).

There were 18 teams and 93 players in the field.

BIG EAST foe Xavier won the event by 17 strokes over Kennesaw State. The Musketeers finished at 875 (+11), leading after each of the three rounds. Central Michigan's Casilda Allendesalazar and Xavier's Emma McMyler tied for individual medalist honors at one-over 217.

Katie Steinman had the round of the day for the Bulldogs on Sunday, carding a one-over 73 on the 6,044-yard Quail Run course. She finished in a tie for 37th at 229 (+13) after earlier rounds of 80 and 76. Steinman's Sunday play included four birdies during her round as she moved up more than 20 spots on the leaderboard in the final round.

Kelli Scheck finished in a tie for 23rd at 11-over 227. She shot back-to-back rounds of 77 after opening the event with a one-over 73 Friday.

Cybil Stillson shot 78 Sunday to finish the event at 230 (+14). She tied for 41
st after rounds of 73 and 79 on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Â

Madalin Small (240; +24) and
Alaina Bowie (243; +27) finished 71st and in a tie for 78th, respectively.
