The Butler track and field team traveled to South Bend, Ind. for the Meyo Invitational on Friday and Saturday.


In the Prestigious Meyo Mile, Angelina Ellis broke the school record at 4:37.06. Ellis placed third in the event and recorded the 24th-best time in the nation at this point in the season.

Abby Olson followed by taking home the win in the women's 5,000 meters. Her mark of 16:53.81 also set a new lifetime-best. 
 
Morgan Walsh ran the second-fastest 600 meters in school history at 1:33.66. 

On the men's side, Luke Finnegan won the 200 meters at 21.50. His mark set a new personal-best. 

Will Minnette earned a new lifetime-best in the 5,000 meters. He placed second in a time of 14.10.14. 

Other notable finishes:
  • Katherine Olsen placed sixth in the women's mile at 4:52.29
  • Edouard Morin-Luzuy finished ninth out of an elite field of 49 runners in the men's 5,000 meters at 14:25.60 
  • Jesse Hamlin earned ninth in the Meyo Mile at 4:04.64
  • Mia Beckham took home a ninth-place finish in the women's 3,000 meters in 9:32.34 
  • David Slapak placed tenth in the men's mile at 4:07.00
The Bulldogs will split up next week for the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn. and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass.
