@ButlerXCTF Begins Outdoor Season at the Blizzard Buster

Oxford, OH — The Butler track and field team opened their outdoor portion of the schedule at the Blizzard Buster on Friday.

In his collegiate debut, William Zegarski fought through the brisk conditions to win the men's 3,000 meters at 8:18.62. Nick Doud followed just behind to secure second at 8:36.29. 

Jack Elder finished first in the 400-meter hurdles at 56.37, setting a new lifetime best. 

On the women's side, Reagan Kelly earned a spot on the podium with a third-place finish in the women's 200 meters at 26.11. 

Elsa Rusthoven and Morgan Werner claimed third and fourth in the 3,000 meters with times of 9:58.52 and 10:01.89. Rusthoven knocked a second off her personal best. 

Other Notable Finishes:
  • Max Wilhelm came in third for the men's 60-meter hurdles at 15.19 
  • Michael Beros and Xavier Wills crossed the line together in the men's 400 meters at 51.08 and 51.66 to place third and fourth. 
  • Sean Davies captured third in the high jump with a height of 1.80 meters. 
  • Jenna Doezema finished fourth in the women's 400-meter hurdles at 1:07.00
  • Jimmy Davis placed fourth in the men's 400-meter hurdles at 1:00.45
  • Sean Robertson and Nate Lantz captured fifth and sixth place in the 3,000 meters at 8:45.30 and 8:46.82
Up Next:
Butler will travel to North Carolina to compete against elite competition at the Raleigh Relays next weekend on Mar. 24 and 25.
