Freshman Rahulniket Konakanchi has been selected as BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday. 
 
Konakanchi grabbed two wins over the week. He defeated Bellarmine's Eli Wood (6-4, 6-2) to help Butler take the 5-2 win before taking down Vanderbilt's Macsen Sisam (7-6,7-6). Konakanchi featured in the No. 5 position, where he is 5-1 on the season. 
 
This is Konakanchi's first time receiving the conference honor and the first Butler freshman to take the accolade since Thomas Brennan in 2019. 
 
Butler is back in action this Saturday when they host BIG EAST opponents in DePaul.
