Bulldogs Set for a Three-Game Series at SEMO this Weekend

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri Redhawks will host the Bulldogs this weekend at Capaha Field. The three-game series will run from March 10-12 with Butler wrapping up their spring break week.

Scouting SEMO
The Redhawks lost a pair of games to Indiana State this week to move their overall record to 4-10. They are 2-4 at home this season and 2-6 on the road. SEMO won their season opener at Central Arkansas (11-3) and would win one game in a four-game series at Abilene Christian to end the month of February. Recent home wins came against Milwaukee (6-5, 13-7).
 
Josh Cameron and Lincoln Andrews are the top two players in the Redhawk lineup. Cameron has a team-high 20 hits in 14 games to post a .370 batting average. He has two doubles, two triples and three home runs to sport a .648 slugging percentage. Andrews also has two doubles and three home runs to match Cameron with 12 RBI this season.
 
SEMO pitchers in line to see action include Noah Niznik, Haden Dow, Payton Lawrence, Hunter Ralls and Collin Wilma. Niznik has the lowest ERA of any starter on the staff at 3.68. Lawrence is the strikeout leader with 15 in 14.1 innings. Wilma has a 4.35 ERA over three starts and Ralls is a staple of the bullpen with 11.1 innings in five outings.
 
SEMO leads the OVC in hits, home runs, and runs scored. The two-time defending OVC Tournament Champs were picked to win the conference in the 2023 preseason poll by obtaining 16 first-place votes. Brett Graber, Jevon Mason, and Kyle Miller were all selected to the Preseason All-OVC Team.
 
Streaks
Kollyn All has a three-game hitting streak heading into the SEMO series. The longest streak of the season belongs to Joey Urban (7). Three Bulldogs have reached base safely in three-straight games. That trio includes Urban, All, and Carter Dorighi.

Up Next
The 2023 home opener is right around the corner with Butler set to host Northwestern next weekend. The Wildcats will play two at Bulldog Park on Saturday, March 18. The three-game series will end the following day with a 2 PM first pitch on Sunday.
