Butler women's lacrosse gets set to play UConn on Saturday for Senior Day. The Bulldogs enter with a 5-8 overall record while the Huskies come in at 9-5 on the season. 


Bulldog Bits 

  • Maggie Zentgraf is in her first season as head coach at Butler. She previously coached at Division III Lake Forest, going 11-4 in the program's first-ever season.    

  • Butler is one win away from tying their program record for wins (6) in a season. 

  • Leah Rubino is one goal away from 50 career goals. 

  • Caroline Smith is six saves away from reaching 100 saves on the season. 

  • Kate Kaptrosky and Luci Selander lead all freshmen on the team with 13 goals each. 

  • Butler's last matchup against Marquette ended in a 22-16 loss on Wednesday. Eight players scored for the Bulldogs, with Luci Selander leading the way with a career-high six goals. Lauren Buckley had an impressive showing in goal as well, making a career-high 12 saves.  

  • In the game against Marquette, Butler set season-high marks for goals in a quarter (9) and a half (13). 


Last Time Out 

Butler's matchup with Marquette ended in a 22-16 loss on Wednesday. Eight players scored for the Bulldogs, with Luci Selander leading the way with a career-high six goals. Kate Kaptrosky scored a career-high three goals. Lauren Buckley had an impressive showing as well, making a career-high 12 saves.  


Scouting UConn 

  • The Huskies are 5-0 against the Bulldogs all-time. 

  • UConn ranks second in the BIG EAST with 19.92 points per game (as of April 18).  

  • Kate Shaffer's four points per game are the second-most in the conference (as of April 18).  

  • Landyn White leads the BIG EAST with nearly 11 saves per game (as of April 18). 

  • UConn snapped a two-game losing streak with a 13-9 win over Georgetown on Wednesday. Shaffer led the game with six goals.
