Des Moines, Iowa — The Butler track and field team competed this weekend at the Drake Relays from Thursday to Saturday.

Matthew Forrester earned 10th in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase on Thursday. His mark of 8:51.80 set a new lifetime best in the event.

On the women's side, Katherine Olsen clocked in at 2:13.21 eighth in 800 meters.

Other Notable Performances

• Jack Elder finished 14th in the men's 400 meters at 49.43. Elder added on in the men's javelin throw earning 21st with a distance of 35.07 meters
• Nick Doud earned 26th at 14:37.55 in the men's unseeded 5,000 meters
• Morgan Werner finished 27th at 17:06.54 in the women's seeded 5,000 meters
• Sean Robertson placed 32nd at 14:49.79 in the men's unseeded 5,000 meters
