Walnut, Calif. — On Saturday, Barry Keane competed in the fastest 5,000 meter race on U.S. soil this year at the On TrackFest. 

The field of 17 runners was loaded with professionals as Keane was the only collegiate athlete in the entire field with the slowest entry before the race at 13:26.40.

Keane posted the sixth fastest collegiate time nationally this spring at 13:27.83 to earn 13th in the race.

Cooper Teare from the Nike Bowerman Track Club won the race at 13:12.73.
