A total of seven student-athletes on Butler's cross country and track and field teams have been recognized by College Sports Communicators as Academic All-District®.

The 2023 Academic All-District® At-Large Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 29.

Butler's honorees include Simon Bedard, Jack Elder and Jesse Hamlin on the men's side, in addition to Mia Beckham, Laure Bertrand, Niki Ezeh and Karmen Koch from Butler's women's teams.

Bedard, Beckham and Bertrand recently competed in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East First Round in Jacksonville. Elder, Ezeh and Koch joined Bedard and Bertrand in earning All-BIG EAST honors at the recent BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Hamlin redshirted the track and field season after placing second at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in cross country and earning All-BIG EAST honors in the fall.
