Men's 5,000 Meters Final Results
Austin, Tex. — Simon Bedard finished 14th in the men's 5,000 meters on Friday night at the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Championships. The French native clocked in at 14:19.10 earning himself second-team All-American honors.Â
Bedard was in the lead pack for most of the race until the group began spreading out with three laps to go. Stanford's Ky Johnson would eventually pull away in the final 400 meters, winning the race at 14:04.77. Johnson claimed his second title after winning the 10,000 meters on Wednesday night.Â
Friday's race was Bedard's first NCAA Outdoor appearance and his last race in a Bulldog uniform.Â

Saturday marks the final day of competition at the championships with Angelina Ellis set to compete in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase finals after advancing in the semifinals on Thursday. The 12 athletes are scheduled to toe the line at 9:24 p.m. ET. The race will be broadcasted on the ESPN family of networks and ESPN+ online.Â
