Butler Women's Golf Opens 54-Hole APSU Intercollegiate Monday

| By:

The Bulldogs head south for their second outing for the fall, as the APSU Intercollegiate begins Monday. The 54-hole event is hosted by Austin Peay.

Butler will compete against host APSU, Belmont, Eastern Illinois, North Alabama, and Tennessee State.

The Clarksville Country Club in Tennessee will be set up at 6,038 yards for the par-72 course. Play is scheduled for 36 holes Monday followed by a final 18 Tuesday. Shotgun starts are set for 8:30 a.m. (Central) both days.

Butler opened the season earlier this month with an eighth-place finish at the Redbird Invitational. Lily Celentano led the charge for the Bulldogs in that event, placing 17th.

Celentano will be joined in coach Christie Cates's line-up by Cybil Stillson, Kelli Scheck, Katie Steinman, and Ashley Freitas. Three Bulldogs will play as individuals: Madalin Small, Alaina Bowie and Sophie McGinnis.

Butler won the APSU Intercollegiate in both 2005 and 2006. The Bulldogs last played in the event in 2009.

Live scoring will be available on GolfStat with a link posted on ButlerSports.com.
