BLOOMINGTON, IND. — The Butler track and field team competed in the final competition before the New Year at the IU Early Bird meet on Friday night. The Bulldogs faced off against 12 other teams, reaching the podium in three different events.

Jenna Doezema led the way earning top finishes in both the women's 600 meters and 4x400-relay. She first placed second in the 600 meters with a mark of 1:34.16 before anchoring the relay team to a third place finish at 3:49.88. 

Renate Toldo also secured a second place finish in the 3,000 meters at 9:50.87.

Other top Bulldog finishers included

• The men's 4x400 quartet of Troy Larrison, Dylan Walker, Michael Beros, and Joseph Pierro placed second at 3:17.77
• Abby Brennan earned third in the 600 meters at 1:34.27
• Elsa Rusthoven finished fourth in the women's 3,000 meters with a time of 9:53.93
• Max Wilhelm posted a time of 8.77 in the 60-meter hurdles to take fifth
• Aedan Rendek led the way for the Bulldogs in the 800 meters taking fifth at 1:56.09

The Bulldogs will take an extended break for the holiday before returning in 2025 for the Illini Open on Jan. 11 in Urbana-Champaign, Ill.
