INDIANAPOLIS – There will be a Battle of the Bulldogs this weekend in Huntsville when Alabama A&M hosts Butler for a three game series. Each contest will feature a 2 PM start. There will not be a live stream this weekend, but fans can follow along with live stats.

AAMU lost to Tennessee Tech on Tuesday afternoon in their home opener, moving their overall record to 1-3. They won their season opener at Arkansas-Pine Bluff but dropped each game of a doubleheader two days later to Lions. Alex Diaz leads the team with a .417 batting average. He has already recorded a double and a triple this season over four games. AAMU has a roster built for speed. The Bulldogs have swiped eight bags on 12 attempts. Chevalier Dorris is the team leader with three.

On the mound, Evan Hurlburt leads the team in strikeouts with nine, but he is not slated to make a start this weekend. Head Coach Elliott Jones will go with Nick Anaya, Anthony Mateo, and Jackson Hall. Anaya has the best numbers of the trio with five strikeouts and just one walk included in four full innings of action. Mateo threw 5.2 innings in his season debut while striking out four and Hall exited the mound after four full innings in his first start of 2024.

Butler and Alabama A&M met on the diamond on March 13, 2019 in Huntsville, Ala. BU scored two runs in the fifth, added two in the seventh and came up with two more in the eighth to win the game 6-1.
