Butler closed out a strong weekend in Arizona by setting a new program record for a 54-hole tournament.

The Bulldogs finished the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational at 15-over 879. The Bulldogs' performance bettered the previous program-record relative to par of 30-over 894 at the 2021 Redbird Fall Invitational. It also improves the Bulldogs' 54-hole record of 882 from the 2021 Butler Fall Invitational, which came on Butler's par-70 home course at Highland Golf Club.

Butler finished fifth in the event, improving one spot from their Saturday position. The Bulldogs carded a team score of 291 Sunday after rounds of 298 Friday and a Saturday 290.

Cal Baptist took team honors at 865 (+1). That was good for a five-shot victory over both Xavier and Illinois State. There were a total of 20 teams in the field. Western Michigan was the host institution for the event.

Madalin Small's second consecutive round of 70 continued her climb up the leaderboard. She finished the event tied for fifth at two-under 214. She opened the event with a 74 before the back-to-back 70s. Her Sunday performance moved her up from a tie for 11
th.

Small's Sunday card included three birdies at the White Wing Golf Course at Rio Verde Country Club in Arizona. The par-72 course was set up at 6,024 yards for the event.

Illinois State's Ali Schrock took medalist honors at 211 (-5).
