The Butler women's lacrosse program will begin their 2024 season at home against Central Michigan on Friday, Feb. 9. The first draw is set for 3 p.m. at Varsity Field in Indianapolis, Ind.

Bulldog Bits:
- The Bulldogs lacrosse team returns 18 players from the 2023 roster, a team which earned 5 victories throughout the season.
- Maggie Zentgraf enters her second season as head coach for the Bulldogs. Zentgraf is a former member of the Notre Dame women's lacrosse team. Zentgraf previously coached at Division III Lake Forest, going 11-4 in the program's first-ever season.
- Last season the team recorded 156 goals, 50 assists, and scored 206 points of 356 shots taken. The team's shooting percentage decreased from the previous season from .442% to .438%.
- Senior midfielder, Leah Rubino, who was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST team, recorded 73 caused turnovers, 51 goals, 15 assists, and 66 points.
- In the 2022 season, the team recorded 122 saves. Last season they increased that number to 142 saves overall.
- Last season, the team increased their overall ground ball number from 205 to 221.
- Sophomore, Luci Selander finished her freshman season with the Bulldogs, 2nd All-Time for Goals in a Single Game (6 - vs. Marquette 4/19/23) and 2nd All-Time for Points in a Single Game (8 - vs. Marquette - 4/19/23).
- Redshirt senior midfielder, Kayla Kielbasa looks to return to action with the Bulldogs after only appearing in one game in the 2023 season. The Penn State transfer has recorded 15 goals, 12 assists, and 27 shots for the Bulldogs over her 28 games played at Butler.
Scouting Central Michigan:
- Central Michigan is 5-0 against the Bulldogs in program history.
- The Chippewas are lead by Emilia Ward, who enters her third year with the program. Ward is no stranger to BIG EAST lacrosse as she is a former assistant at Marquette (2020-21).
- In the 2023 season, Central Michigan was 10-9 overall and 6-2 in conference play.
- Last season on the scoring side, the Chippewas recorded 253 goals, 100 assists, 556 shots, 418 shots on goal, and averaging 29.3 shots per game.
- On the defensive side, Central Michigan recorded, 291 ground balls, 254 turnovers, and 140 caused turnovers in the 2023 season.
- The Chippewas are the reigning 2023 Mid-American Conference Champions.
