The Butler women's lacrosse team is set to take on Villanova on Saturday, March 30 at Varsity Field in Indianapolis, Ind. The first draw is set for 12 p.m.

Bulldog Bits:
  • Maggie Zentgraf is in her second season as head coach for the Bulldogs. Zentgraf is a former member of the Notre Dame women's lacrosse team. Zentgraf previously coached at Division III Lake Forest, going 11-4 in the program's first-ever season. 
  • The Bulldogs improve to 2-7 for the 2024 season and are 1-0 in BIG EAST play after their 16-10 win over Xavier on Saturday. 
  • Senior midfielder Leah Rubino currently leads the program with 26 goals and 30 points. She has also recorded 18 ground balls and 40 draw controls thus far in the 2024 season. Rubino ranks fourth in the conference for the most draw controls per game and total goals overall.
  • Sophomore attack Delaney Hudson currently leads the program with seven assists. Hudson has helped contribute 16 points over the course of eight games. Hudson is ranked fifth in the conference with the most assists overall. 
  • Goalie Caroline Smith received BIG EAST Defender of the Week honors this past week. Smith recorded a season-high 16 saves in a single game in the team's win over Xavier. Smith is currently leading the conference in saves and average saves per game. 
 
Scouting Villanova: 
  • The Villanova women's lacrosse team is led by Jill Batcheller. Batcheller is in her third season as head coach. 
  • The Wildcats currently obtain a 4-6 record for the 2024 season and are 0-1 in the BIG EAST after falling 6-8 to Georgetown last week. 
  • Junior attack Sydney Pappas currently leads the program with 32 goals and 34 points. 
  • Fellow junior attack Sami Carey leads the program with 15 assists. Carey has also recorded 12 goals and 27 points for the Wildcats throughout the 2024 season.
