@ButlerXCTF Completes Weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational

The Butler track and field team wrapped up the final day of the Bryan Clay Invitational on Saturday.

Top Bulldog performances included:
  • Wiktoria Klebowska posted the 9th fastest time for the women's 5,000 meters in school history. Her mark of 16:26.25 was 18th in the Invite 4.
  • Jesse Hamlin earned 25th in the men's 1,500 meters invite at 3:40.87
  • Zac Stanley posted a time of 48.77 in the men's 400 meters to place 49th
  • Gavin Cougle was just two hundredths of a second away from breaking his personal best after recording a time of 21.67.
Earlier this week, William Cuthbertson broke the men's 800-meter program record with a run of 1:48.27. Cuthbertson placed 18th in the competition after defeating 99 other athletes. Additionally, he beat this season's record set by Jesse Hamlin by a tenth of a second.

Jesse Hamlin and Florian Le Pallec both ran sub-13:30 in the men's 5,000 meters. Hamlin crossed the line in 10th with a mark of 13:27.26 and was less than a second away from beating Barry Keane's school record. Le Pallec followed in 13:29.78 earning 14th, respectively, in an elite heat won by Brian Musau of Oklahoma State in 13:13.29. 

The Bulldogs will head back to Indiana to compete at the Gibson Invitational hosted by Indiana State on Apr. 19.
