Bulldogs Place 11th at Rain-Shortened Colonel Classic

The Bulldogs took an 11th-place finish at the Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky.
 
The event was scheduled for 54 holes, but Tuesday's final round was canceled due to weather. The 36 holes played Monday were considered the final and official results.
 
The Bulldogs shot rounds of 310 and 308 Monday to finish at 618 (+42). Morehead State won the event, shooting 16-over 592. Bradley and host Eastern Kentucky followed in second and third, respectively.
 
Butler's finished 11th, but was part of a group of six teams that were separated by only a total of five shots. Those six teams finished seventh through 12th in the 15-team field.
 
Butler's top performer was Cybil Stillson, who shot rounds of 73 and 79 to finish in a tie for 21st at 152 (+8). MacKenzie Neal of Morehead State took medalist honors at even-par 144. She won by two strokes over a trio of players at two-over 146.

Eastern Kentucky hosted the event on the 6,108-yard Gibson Bay Golf Course.
 
The Bulldogs are back in action April 13-14 at the IUPUI Invitational, which will be the team's final tune-up prior to the 2024 BIG EAST Championships later in the month.
