Aces Win at Bulldog Park 15-5

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler took a 15-5 loss to Evansville on Tuesday afternoon to move their overall record to 13-17. The Purple Aces scored seven runs in the seventh inning to seal the victory.
 
Rain began to fall midway through the contest, but the two teams continued to battle it out under wet conditions. Carter Dorighi highlighted the game for BU with three hits. He was responsible for one of Butler' two RBIs in the game and also scored two of their five runs. Keegan Connors also had an RBI with a sac fly in the first that gave BU a 2-0 lead.
 
Evansville responded with three runs in the top of the second to get back on top. They took control of the game with two more runs in the third followed by two in the fourth.
 
Dorighi kept Butler within striking distance by scoring a run in the fourth to make the game 7-5. The difference was a three-run home run in the seventh. Fougeroussed homered to left in the sixth and Harrison Taubert hammered a ball to left center the following frame to make the game 11-5.
 
Taubert went 2-for-5 vs. BU with four RBI and a run scored. Kip Fougerousse was 4-for-5 with four runs scored and Simon Scherry was 2-for-4 with three RBI.
 
The Purple Aces came up with 13 hits to score their 15 runs. Butler was limited to just five allowing them to score five.

Jace Kressin was credited with the win after throwing two innings for Evansville. Kressin, Max Hansmann and Jakob Meyer combined for 10 strikeouts on the day and just one walk.
 
The loss went to Christian Finnigan, his first of the season. Butler's top arm on Tuesday was Simon Linde. He struck out six over three full innings.
 
Butler will return to action tomorrow with a 6:30 first pitch at Notre Dame.
