@ButlerWLacrosse Matches Up Against Denver on Wednesday

The Butler women's lacrosse program will take on Denver on Wednesday, April 10 at Varsity Field in Indianapolis, Ind. The first draw is set for 12 p.m.

Bulldog Bits:
  • Maggie Zentgraf in her second season as head coach for the Bulldogs. Zentgraf is a former member of the Notre Dame women's lacrosse team. Zentgraf previously coached at Division III Lake Forest, going 11-4 in the program's first-ever season. 
  • The Bulldogs fall to 2-10 for the 2024 season and are now 1-3 in the BIG EAST after falling to Georgetown on Saturday at Varsity Field. 
  • Senior midfielder Leah Rubino continues to lead to the program with the most goals, 36. Rubino ranks third in the conference for the most goals per game and fourth for most total goals.
  • Sophomore attack Luci Selander leads the team in assists and total points. Selander has recorded 15 assists and 42 points thus far in the 2024 season. Selander is ranked third in the conference for assists per game. 
  • Goalie Caroline Smith has accounted for 137 saves so far this season. Smith continues to lead the conference in saves and saves per game.  
 
Scouting Denver: 
  • The Denver women's lacrosse team is led by Liza Kelly. Kelly is in her 18th season leading the Pioneers.
  • The Pioneers are currently 9-3 for the 2024 season and obtain a 3-0 record in the BIG EAST conference.
  • Attack Julia Gilbert currently leads the team in scoring with 36 goals. Gilbert ranks fourth with the most goals per game, right behind Butler's Rubino at third overall. 
  • Attack Olivia Penoyer leads the program with 27 assists and 47 points. Penoyer is ranked first in the conference for the most assists and assists per game.
