Butler Athletics Enhances NIL Program with ASP Academy Partnership

Butler University Athletics has announced a partnership with Altius Sports Partners wherein the leading advisor in collegiate sports will provide Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) advisory services to the university through its ASP Academy program. This initiative will bolster support for Bulldog athletes, coaches, and staff by offering direct access to NIL experts and tailored educational resources.

ASP Academy is designed to meet the specific NIL and athlete compensation needs of institutions, delivering a comprehensive suite of ongoing education, advisory services, and dedicated workshops. Butler, a member of the Big East Conference since 2013, will benefit from this program, which aligns with the university's commitment to the holistic success of its athletes.

"Investing in our student athletes' futures is essential. This program through ASP not only equips them with vital commercial knowledge but also enhances the overall athletic experience, reflecting our commitment to excellence and integrity. We're here to support our athletes during their careers at Butler and beyond, ensuring they have the tools they need for long-term success. By partnering with ASP, we're bringing in experts to help us stay on the cutting edge of NIL developments and set strategic guidance for the future of athlete compensation," said Grant Leiendecker, Vice President/Director of Athletics at Butler.

ASP's team will work with Butler's athletics department to support its NIL and revenue-sharing strategy, integrating best practices. The program includes customized guidance and expertise for coaches, staff, and athletes on topics such as compliance, personal branding, finances, athlete compensation, and how to maximize NIL opportunities. This approach will meet Butler's specific needs and actively engage both internal and external stakeholders in the NIL process in a compliant manner.

"ASP Academy is designed to empower athletes through education. Our guidance not only sets a standard for excellence in collegiate sports but also enables us to assist schools at scale. We're excited to work with Grant and the team at Butler to build upon their reputation as a school that invests comprehensively in the athlete experience. This approach ensures athletes can fully benefit from current commercial opportunities while preparing for future transformations," said Brittney Whiteside, Vice President of ASP College at Altius Sports Partners.

Established in 2022, ASP Academy ensures that athletes and stakeholders at all levels of collegiate athletics receive expert NIL guidance. Participants include the athletics departments of the University of Nevada, the University of North Alabama, Tulane University, and the University of Delaware, in addition to Butler University. As ASP expands this initiative, it will continue to offer advisory support, strategic guidance, and customized education.
