Butler returned to action in Urbana-Champaign, IL at the Fighting Illini Big Ten Preview. The Bulldog men opened their 2024 campaign by placing fourth as a team while the women took seventh.

In his Butler debut, Austin Gabay led the charge in the men's 8K crossing the finish line in fifth with a mark of 23:48.5. 

Sean Byrnes and Luke Henseler followed, finishing side-by-side in 15th and 16th at 24:04.0 and 24:04.8. Rounding out the scorers were Martin Kovacech (27th, 24:20.8) and Matteo Rosio (28th, 24:21.8).

On the women's side Wiktoria Klebowska earned a top-10 finish in the 6K earning eighth at 20:38.7. 

After a stellar start to her Butler career in Valparaiso last weekend, first-year Hannah Moore was the second freshman across the line placing 23rd at 21:16.6.

Just behind her were the trio of Mckenna Mazeski (44th, 21:57.4, Alejandra Sierazy (45, 21:57.9) and Ashlyn Minton (50th, 22:13.3).
