Women’s Basketball to Host Kid’s Day Game on Nov. 6

| By:
The Butler women's basketball team will partner with the NCAA's Readers Become Leaders Program to host an Elementary School Kids' Day Game against Chicago State on Nov. 6. The Bulldogs will look to expand on last year's event that had over 2,600 fans in attendance at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

The NCAA Readers Become Leaders program encourages students to increase their reading, which lays a foundation for future educational goals, such as attending college. The program also aims to help teachers dealing with a literacy crisis that affects all demographics, as data has shown that if reading is below level by the fourth grade, students are more likely to drop out of school later.

The Kid's Day Game will feature an 11 a.m. tip and will be the first of two events to be held at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Nov. 6 as the volleyball team plays host to Marquette later that night at 7 p.m.

Butler's women's basketball team returns four starters from last year's club that went to the WNIT. The first chance for fans to see the team live will be on Saturday, Oct. 5 during Homecoming Weekend. The team will host an open practice from 10-11 a.m. BU also added an exhibition game to the schedule. The Bulldogs will host Taylor on Nov. 1.
