Butler Women Set to Close Fall at Dayton Invitational

| By:

The Bulldogs will head east along I-70 to compete in their final tournament on the fall portion of their schedule.

Butler is part of the field at the Dayton Flyer Invitational, which will begin Monday. The two-day, 54-hole event is set for the par-71, 5,854-yard NCR Country Club South Course in Kettering, Ohio.

The Bulldog women won the 2024 event, which was played on NCR's North Course. Butler finished with five players among the Top 15, led by Treva Dodd. She tied for fourth at 15-over 225.

The Bulldogs are coming off a team title last week at the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic.

Butler's 54-hole total of 882 (+18) at the Bradley event included a seven-under 281 in Sunday's afternoon round to set a new 18-hole program record for the Bulldogs relative to par, besting the one-under 287 as part of the 2020 Colonel Classic.

Dodd's record-setting performance and medalist honors at the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic earned her BIG EAST Golfer of the Week accolades.

Dodd's three-under 213 performance matches the program record relative to par for a 54-hole event, something she also accomplished last season at the 2024 Redbird Fall Invitational and by Abigail Gleixner at the 2016 Redbird Fall Invitational.

All eight Bulldogs will be in action in Dayton. Dodd is joined in the five-player line-up by Addi Kooi, Ashley Freitas, Cybil Stillson, and Kelli Scheck. A trio of Bulldogs – Sophie McGinnis, Maddie Diedrich and Samantha Von Rohr – will compete as individuals.

The Bulldogs and host Dayton are joined in the 10-team field by Akron, UIC, Northern Kentucky, Ohio, Kennesaw State, Tennessee Tech, Toledo, and Western Michigan. A quartet of programs will send participating individuals: Bowling Green, Kent State, Ohio Northern, and Ohio State.

Monday's play will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Live scoring for the event will be available with a link posted to ButlerSports.com.
