INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler women's basketball program signed four players on Wednesday morning as a part of National Signing Day. Alexis Baer, Joslyn Bricker, Olivia Hastings and Laniah Wills will make Indianapolis their home over the next four seasons.

Baer is a 6-2 guard at Peoria Notre Dame High School under Head Coach Mike Breitbach. Baer and her team were Big 12 conference champions and state runner-up in 2023-24, before being crowned state champions in 2024-25.

During Peoria Notre Dame's state championship season, Baer carried the load for her team, averaging 16 ppg, 7 rpg, and 2 apg while shooting 40 percent from deep.

Baer currently holds school records for most 3-pointers in a season with 119 in 2024-25. Baer broke her own record, which she set the year prior, of 98 in a season. She is a 1,000-point scorer in high school and is a high honor roll student.

The Peoria, Ill. native also played volleyball and ran track in high school and plans to study sports medicine at Butler.

Why Baer Chose Butler: I chose Butler because of many reasons. I value genuine relationships with people, and I know that I will get that at Butler, from the coaches to the players, on and off the court. Education is very important to me as well, and I know that Butler will set me up for success after college, not only in sports. Overall, choosing Butler just felt right. I wanted to find the school that best fit me, a school that will help me grow as a player, student, and person. Butler is that school.

Head Coach Austin Parkinson on Signing Baer: "Lexi is a guard who has in the gym range. She has the unique ability to come off screens and get her feet set with such a quick release. She has tremendous length and will have the ability to guard multiple positions."

Joslyn Bricker
5-9, Guard
Warsaw, Indiana
Warsaw High School

Bricker is a 5-9 guard at Warsaw High School in Warsaw, Indiana, under Head Coach Lenny Krebs. In her first two seasons of varsity action, Bricker has helped lead her team to a 40-10 record. She has been a vital part of Warsaw's success, averaging 17.8 points per game, 3.2 assists per game, and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Bricker has helped lead her team to three conference championships and, in 2025, led Warsaw to being 4A State Runner-Ups. During her team's remarkable season, Bricker averaged 19 ppg, 5.3 rpg and 3.2 apg.

The Warsaw, Indiana native has been recognized as an Indiana Junior All-Star Core Member, ICGSA All-State First Team, AP All-State team, Times Union Player of the Year, Journal Gazette All-Area selection, All-State Honorable Mention and has been named an all-conference player three times.

Bricker, a high honor roll and national honor society student, also played volleyball, flag football and helped with Unified Track & Field. She plans to study health science at Butler in the fall.

Why Bricker Chose Butler: I felt an immediate connection with the coaching staff at Butler from the moment they began recruiting me. My faith is very important to me, and I know that it also matters to the coaches and players. Combining that with the prestigious academics and the opportunity to play high-level basketball really drew me to Butler.

Head Coach Austin Parkinson on Signing Bricker: "Joslyn is the ultimate competitor and leader. She can score from all three levels and is one of the best I've seen at playing off of two feet and always being on balance. Simply put, any team she is on wins."

Olivia Hastings
6-3, Forward/Center
Sydney, NSW, Australia
Willoughby Girls High School

Hastings is a 6-3 forward/center from Sydney, Australia, and most recently has seen action in NBL 1 for the Norths Bears. Hastings was a part of the 2025 Bronze Australia National Classic with the Under 18 squad and was a part of the Under 16 Silver Easter Classic squad.

Hastings was recognized for her contributions to her Club Team, the North Bears, in 2022 and 2024 when she was named Defensive Player of the Year for the club. She was the youngest player to play on the Norths NBL 1 team in 2025. She represented New Zealand at the U17 FIBA World Cup Basketball Tournament and was selected to play in the 2025 Asia Basketball Without Borders event in Singapore.

Hastings will study marketing at Butler.

Why Hastings Chose Butler: The decision to travel so far from home to further my education and grow as a basketball player was a massive decision. After being fortunate to receive several D1 college offers, I asked my basketball mentors how to choose the 'right' team and college. I was told to prioritize what was important to me, and when you have met the right coaching team 'you will just know'. That was very true. After my visit with the Butler coaching staff and tour of the campus, nothing else could compare! The vision, expertise, style of play, and team culture being created by the coaching staff really stood out. Also, the warm and welcoming staff that spent time talking to me about all of the education options and the impressive business school with a truly unique approach to internships to prepare students for success beyond college, was next level! I feel so very grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the Butler women's basketball team and cannot wait to learn from my teammates and also bring some Aussie-Kiwi (slang for Australian/New Zealander) humor, dedication, drive and commitment to achieving our goals!

Head Coach Austin Parkinson on Signing Hastings: "Olivia is a long and versatile post player who has the ability to play inside and out. She has a high motor and is an excellent rebounder. Playing against the competition in the NBL 1 and her various national teams has been great preparation for what she will see in the BIG EAST."

Laniah Wills
6-0, Guard
Anderson, Indiana
Lapel High School

Wills is a 6-0 guard at Lapel High School in Anderson, Indiana, under Head Coach Zach Newby. In her first three seasons of varsity action, Wills has helped lead her team to a 63-22 record. Wills has been a dominant force for Lapel, averaging a double-double with 20.4 points per game and 12.7 rebounds per game over the course of her career.

Wills and Lapel were the 2023 State Runner-Up, and in 2024, went to regionals. In her career, Wills has been named an All-State selection (2023, 2024, 2025) and was named Freshman of the Year, Area Player of the Year, and a Junior All-Star.

Wills had the best game of her young career on December 11, 2024, when the junior posted 48 points, 23 rebounds, and seven assists against Madison Grant High School. Wills also competes on the IGB 17u GU AA team.

The Anderson, Indiana, native also played volleyball in high school and will study Creative Media and Entertainment at Butler.

Why Wills Chose Butler: I chose Butler because they are not only a great sports school, but they are also a great academic institution.

Head Coach Austin Parkinson on Signing Wills: "Laniah is the type of player that raises everyone's level of play around her. She can fly up and down the floor and is a tremendous rebounder. She can guard multiple positions and will be a unique matchup for opponents with her ability to also play on the perimeter."
