Six Butler Soccer Players Earn Academic All-District Honors from College Sports Communicators

Six student-athletes on the 2025 Butler soccer team – Chloe Brecht, Lucia Englund, Norah Jacomen, Léa Larouche, Emily O'Malley, and Talia Sommer– have been recognized by College Sports Communicators as Academic All-District®.  
 
The 2025 Academic All-District® Soccer Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 17.
 
Brecht, from Powell, Ohio, was an All-BIG EAST Third Team selection who appeared and started in 16 matches for Butler, primarily as an outside back. She tied for third on the team with two goals, four assists, and eight total points, scoring her goals at Marquette and vs. Seton Hall.
 
Englund, from Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, was an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection who appeared and started in 16 matches for the Bulldogs as an outside back. She was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal and adding an assist in the 3-1 win vs. Providence. She also scored in the Dawgs' 2-1 win over Seton Hall.
 
Jacomen, from Knoxville, Tennessee, started all 17 matches this season, producing nine total points, which was second on the team. Her three goals, vs. Illinois State, Ball State, and Drake, tied for second on the team. The forward also dished out three assists, including a pair at Central Michigan.
 
Larouche, from Quebec, Canada, was an All-BIG EAST Third Team selection who started all 17 matches for Butler. She finished second on the team with five assists and nabbed a BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll nod after assisting on all four of Butler's goals in matches vs. DePaul and Providence. Her seven total points, which included a goal vs. Illinois State, tied for fifth-most on the team.
 
O'Malley, from Chesterfield, Michigan, started in all 17 matches for the Bulldogs. She scored her first collegiate goal at Marquette and tallied three assists over the season, finishing tied for fourth on the team.
 
Sommer, from Tel Aviv, Israel, was named 2025 BIG EAST Co-Midfielder of the Year and was an All-BIG EAST First Team honoree for the third-straight season. She started in all 17 matches in the midfield, leading the team with 19 points, six goals, and seven assists. She earned BIG EAST Honor Roll recognition in week two after tallying a goal along with two assists vs. Illinois State and adding an additional assist on Butler's only goal at Purdue.
