Butler's
Jesse Hamlin kicked off the indoor season in style, breaking his own Butler program record in the 3,000 meters.

The graduate student crossed the line in 7:43.06, breaking his previous mark of 7:44.69 from 2022.

Hamlin was among five Bulldogs competing in Boston at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener Saturday. He finished tenth among the field.

Additional highlights in Boston included:
- William Zegarski (13:35.54) was tenth in his top heat of the 5,000 meters and finished 16th overall.
- Eli Fullerton (13:55.88) and Brendan Thomas (13:56.25) took the top two spots in their heat of the 5,000 meters.
- Austin Gabay posted a personal-best time of 7:56.98 in the 3.000 meters.

On Friday, a portion of the Bulldogs' roster traveled to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Blue and Gold Invitational.

The top-performing men included:
- Ryan Elston's time of 2:25.01 was good for the runner-up spot in the 1,000 meters. Aedan Rendek was sixth in the event (2:26.40).
- Joseph Pierro was second in the 300 meters with a time of 34.23. Troy Larrison finished fourth, crossing the line in 34.77.
- Cabott Craft finished third in the long jump with a leap of 22' 9".

On the women's side, the top performances featured:
- Anna Niebrugge won the 200 meters with a time of 24.63. Her time of 7.68 seconds was fifth in the 60 meters.
- Lily Wharton was sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.07 seconds.
- Jocelyn Davis finished seventh in the 300 meters at 41.32.

The Bulldogs finish out the 2025 portion of the indoor track and field schedule Friday (Dec. 12), making the drive south to Bloomington for the Indiana University Early Bird meet.
