Bulldogs Have Impressive Weekend at Midwest Classic

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. — The Butler track and field team returned to the Indiana State Fairgrounds for the third week in a row this time for the Midwest Classic.

Aedan Rendek led the way for the Bulldogs earning a spot on the podium in the 800 meters. He placed third with a time of 1:53.75.

On the women's side, Hannah Moore finished fourth in her first 5,000 meter race of her collegiate career. Her mark of 16:58.93 is the fastest by a freshman in the BIG EAST this season.

Other top Bulldog performers included:
  • Cabott Craft secured second in the men's triple jump with a mark of 13.63 meters. He added a third place finish in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.93 meters.
  • Jenna Doezema recorded a new personal best in the women's 400 meters at 56.55 to finish fourth.
  • Brendan Thomas and Asher Propst finished together in the men's 5,000 meters in fifth and sixth at 14:27.60 and 14:30.76.
  • Ashley Learn scratched five seconds off her personal best in the women's mile at 5:00.68 to earn sixth
  • Luke Walden placed sixth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.88 meters. Walden currently holds the second best mark in the conference this season.
The Bulldogs will return to the Indiana State Fairgrounds one final time next weekend for the Fairgrounds Invitational beginning on Feb. 8.
