INDIANAPOLIS, IN. On Wednesday afternoon the Butler Women's Tennis Team welcomed the Redbirds of Illinois State into the Racquet Club for a mid-week match. Illinois State was able to win the match 4-1.

The Redbirds were able to start fast, picking up the doubles point for the match with wins on all three courts.  

On the number 1 singles court Chase Metcalf found herself in a tight match. After splitting the first two sets, she was able to pull away from Lana Caculovic in the third set winning the match 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 earning a point for the Dawgs. After dropping the first set on court 3 Katie Beavin won the second set 6-0 forcing a third set which was unfortunately halted due to the results of the other matches. On court 5 Brooke Arington also dropped the first of her match but was able to grab the second set 6-3 forcing a third set tiebreaker. That third set tiebreaker was stopped as well due to the results of the other matches. 

The Dawgs will travel to Eastern Michigan this Sunday to take on the Eagles. That match will start at 2 p.m.
