Butler Defeats Marian Winning Their Second Match in a Row

Saturday afternoon the Butler Women's Tennis team welcomed Marian University into the Racquet Club. The Dawgs earned a 5-2 victory, winning their second match in a row in as many days.

The Dawgs started fast, grabbing the doubles point thanks to wins on all three courts. On court 1 Chase Metcalf and Brooke Arington took down Yasmin Imamniyazova and Ana Barbosa 6-3. Moving to court 2, Katie Beavin and Lauren Cook defeated Ana Lopez Torres and Michelle Irigoyen rather easily 6-1. Over on court 3 the duo of Emma Beavin and Norah Balthazor completed the doubles sweep for the Dawgs, they prevailed 6-1 against Liliane Alinquant and Paloma Caceres Villalba.

As for the singles matches, Chase Metcalf and Norah Balthazor each knocked off their respective opponents 6-1, 6-0. Metcalf competed on court 1 while Balthazor won her match on court 2. On court 5, Brooke Arington conquered Liliane Alinquant 6-0, 7-5. Lauren Cook capped off the Dawgs win with a 6-0, 6-0 win on court 6 over Paloma Caceres Villalba.

The Dawgs will look to make it 3 three wins in a row next Sunday March 2nd when they will travel to Ball State.
