Schilling Sets School Record on Penultimate Night of 2025 #BEswimdive Championships

The Bulldogs remain in sixth place in the conference championship meet, holding a 46-point lead over Providence. Kate Schilling highlighted day three of competition with a school record performance in the 100 Breast. Schilling was also an impact swimmer for BU in the 400 Medley Relay at the conclusion of the third night of the 2025 #BEswimdive Championships Presented by JEEP.
 
Schilling broke the school record in her prelim swim in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:02.35! She advanced to the A Final and placed fifth overall. Lydia Eberlein was active in the 100 Breast with a 16th place finish (1:05.90) and Ava McGonigle took 20th (1:06.92).
 
In the 100 Fly, Ava Whittaker placed 16th by swimming the school's fourth-fastest time in school history during her prelim race. She clocked in a 56.28. Lauren Bergman earned 18th place with a personal-best time of 56.82 and Alani Hightower-Bend rounded out the effort in 23rd place.
 
400 IM action included Caroline Zimner, Sadie Brown and Emma Ciesla competing in the pool. Zimner placed 11th (4:26.86), Brown was close behind in 14th (4:31.48) while Ciesla ended up in 18th (4:36.08).
 
Three Bulldogs swam for Butler in the 200 Free. Kayla Wright was the top finisher with a lifetime-best swim of 1:53.63. Her morning swim earned her a place in the B Final where she placed 14th. Caitlin Herring took 18th place with a time of 1:53.02, and Elizabeth Naylor took 22nd place with a time of 1:54.22.
 
Gianna Leffler reached the A Finals of the 100 Back for Butler. She placed 18th by touching the wall at 57.72. Olivia McKee also performed well with a time of 59.99.
 
Butler's 400 Medley Relay Team comprised of Gianna Leffler for backstroke (58.13), Kate Schilling for breaststroke (1:03.12), Ava Whittaker for butterfly (56.62), and Olivia Stotts for freestyle (51.74) posted the second-fastest time in school history (3:49.32).
 
The fourth and final day will begin with the prelims of the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, and 200 butterfly. The women's 3-meter dive prelims are scheduled for 1 p.m. Finals are slated for a 5:45 p.m. start with early heats of the 1,650 freestyle to be contested prior to the start of the session.
