On Saturday afternoon the Butler Men's Tennis welcomed conference foe Xavier into the Indianapolis Racquet Club. The Dawgs won the match 5-2. Their record on the season is now 10-7 and 2-1 in conference play. 

The match started with doubles play where the Bulldogs were able to grab the point. On court 1 the duo of Nicolas Arts and Rahulniket Konakanchi defeated Ryan Cahill and Pascal Mosberger 6-4. Over on court 2 Riccardo Baldi and Arnesh Singh knocked off Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck 6-4, clinching the doubles point for the Dawgs.

As for singles, Butler was able to win enough matches to clinch the overall match. On court 1 Patrick Joss and Ryan Cahill split the first two sets. In the third set, the two gentlemen went back and forth and competed in a tiebreaker where Joss was able to pull through. He won the match 6-2, 3-6, 7-6. On court 2 Riccardo Baldi comfortably defeated Pascal Mosberger 6-4, 6-0. Nicolas Arts also won his match in straight sets. On court 3 Arts beat Christian Gonzalez 6-0, 6-4. On court 4 Rahulniket Konakanchi and Alex Kotarski split the first two sets. Then in the decisive third set Konakanchi pulled away and won the set 6-2, winning the match 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.

Butler has now won 4 matches in a row and will return to action next Saturday March 29th. They will host the University of Indianapolis. The match is set to begin at 2pm.
