On Sunday afternoon the Butler Women's Tennis team beat conference foe Georgetown 4-3 at the Indianapolis Racquet Club. This win moves the Dawgs record to 4-10 and 1-1 in conference play.

The Dawgs were able to get out to a hot start and earn the doubles point thanks to wins on courts 1 and 2. The duo of Chase Metcalf and Brooke Arington defeated Ashley Kennedy and Emily Novikov 6-1 on court 1. On court 2 Norah Balthazor and Lauren Cook took down Paige Gilbert and Ellen Puzak 6-1, clinching the doubles point for the Bulldogs. 

As for singles, Butler was able to win 3 matches which was enough to win the overall match. On court 1 Chase Metcalf won her seventh singles match of the season. Metcalf won a very competitive 6-4, 7-5 match over Emily Novikov. On court 5 Lauren Cook bested Molly Evans 6-4, 6-3. 

Over on court 4 freshman Brooke Arington won her match and clinched the overall match for Butler. Arington faced off against Paige Gilbert. The ladies split the first two sets. Then, in the deceive third set Arington was able to narrowly edge out Gilbert 7-5, winning the match 7-5, 3-6, 7-5. Brooke Aringtons win was the 4th point for Butler which was enough to clinch the win. 

The Dawgs will be back in action next weekend. They will travel to Connecticut to play two matches. On Saturday Butler will take on Providence College and then on Sunday they will take on The University of Connecticut.
