On Saturday afternoon the Butler Men's Tennis team defeated Marquette 5-2. Prior to the match, the Bulldogs celebrated senior Patrick Joss. Joss and the Dawgs finished the regular season with a record of 13-8 and a 5-1 record in conference play. 

The Dawgs started hot, they were able to grab the doubles point thanks to wins on courts 1 and 2. On court 1, the duo of Rahulniket Konakanchi and Nicolas Arts took down Blake Roegner and Hugh Perrill 6-2. On court 2, Arnesh Singh and Riccardo Baldi were able to comfortably beat Remi St. Laurent and Cyrus Ahmad 6-1.

As for singles, Butler was able to win on courts 3 through 6. On court 3, Nicolas Arts defeated Ty Ryerson in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. On court 4, Rahulniket Konakanchi glided past Kristian Balgoev by a score of 6-2, 6-3. Over on court 5, Nicholas Shirley won the first set 6-2 then was able to win a second set tiebreaker, defeating Remi St. Laurent 6-2, 7-6. Rounding up the action on court 6, Aidan William bested Hugh Perrill 6-4, 6-3.

The regular season has come to an end and the Dawgs will turn their focus to the BIG EAST Tournament. Starting next Friday April 18th, the Bulldogs will look to capture the BIG EAST Tournament crown in Cayce, South Carolina.
