| By:

The BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship presented by JEEP begins Saturday at Callawassie Island in South Carolina. The 54-hole Championship runs through Monday.

Play begins on Saturday at 8 a.m. ET. Saturday's first-round threesomes will be determined by team seedings, while Sunday and Monday's groupings will be determined from the previous day's leaderboard.

Butler finished second at the 2024 BIG EAST Championship, which was the best conference result for the Bulldogs since joining the BIG EAST prior to the 2014 championship.

Butler's top two performers from the 2024 championship return as Will Horne tied for sixth and Derek Tabor tied for 11th a season ago. Leo Zurovac, who captured medalist honors at the Don Benbow Invitational this spring, is also part of the line-up, which is rounded out by a trio of freshman in Logan Sutto, Luke Kruger and Johnny Creamean. Coach Colby Huffman will select a five-player line-up for each round.

The Bulldogs had three Top-3 finishes during the season, including winning the Don Benbow Spring Invitational in Indianapolis less than a month ago.

Going into the Championship, Marquette is the highest ranked in the Scoreboard NCAA national rankings. The Golden Eagles are 46th in a year that has included four team titles. Seton Hall is the defending champion.

The BIG EAST will crown a team champion, which gains an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship.  Should the individual champion not be a member of the winning team, he will also earn an automatic position in the NCAA Championship.

GameKast Live, a golf streaming service, will provide coverage for a third straight year. Select holes will be covered in addition to live commentary from the 18th green. GameKast Live provided coverage of the women's championship last week. There are no subscription fees.
