The Butler baseball team ended the week with a 7-1 setback at UConn on Sunday afternoon.
David Ayers scored the only run of the game for BU off a ground-rule double by
Harry Carr. The Bulldogs were limited to just five hits in the game while the Huskies recorded 10.

The back half of the lineup delivered four of the five hits on the day. Ayers led the team with a 2-for-4 performance and
Ian Choi joined Carr with a hit in the contest. The other hit came from the two-hole by
Ryan Drumm.

On the mound,
Ben Whiteside took the loss after throwing the first five innings. He struck out four and walked two.
Tate Foxson took care of the sixth while Thomas and Kanipe also touched the rubber.

The win went to UConn starter Charlie West (4-0). West struck out six over five innings, but also issued six walks. The Huskies were led in the hit column by Dougherty. Biller had a double helping produce two RBIs and MacArthur hit a home run.

Butler's final non-conference game will be played this coming Tuesday at Ohio State. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
