The Butler women's tennis players—Norah Balthazor, Emma Beavin, Katie Beavin, and Chase Metcalf—each received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honors.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early June.
Balthazor was named to her third consecutive Academic All-District team. The senior DePere, Wisconsin native played primarily at the No. 2 spot. Her season included wins over Indiana, Seton Hall, and UConn.
She also competed in doubles starting at the No. 3 with Emma Beavin before moving up to the No. 2 to pair with Lauren Cook. Balthazor completed the season with wins over Arkansas State, Georgetown, and Marquette.
Metcalf completed her 2024-25 campaign in singles at the No. 1 spot. Her season included wins over Indiana, Illinois State, and Lousivlle. She also played at the No. 1 position in doubles which included wins over Georgetown and Ball State. This was her second time receiving the honors after making the team last season.
The twin sisters of Emma Beavin and Katie Beavin round out the award winners, earning their second career Academic All-District honors after being recognized in 2023.
Emma, senior Louisville, Ky. native, spent the season rotating between the No. 4,5, and 6 positions. Her top performances included wins over Southern Indiana, Providence and Dayton. In doubles, she primarily played at the No. 3 spot pairing with Balthazor and Jordan Schildcrout knocking off teams including Seton Hall, and Marian.
Katie, also a senior from Louisville, played as Butler's No. 3 in the singles but also saw time at the No. 4 spot. Her season included wins over Providence, Marquette, and Valparaiso. Katie was paired with Lauren Cook in doubles at the No. 2 spot for the first half of the season. She finished with wins over Southern Indiana and Marian.
