Jeff Fiebelkorn - Idaho

Jeff Fiebelkorn Hired as @ButlerXCTF Assistant Coach

| By:
Jeff Fiebelkorn has joined the Butler track and field and cross country programs as an assistant coach. Butler Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Matt Roe made the announcement August 1.

Fiebelkorn arrives at Butler after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Idaho since 2021. At Idaho, Fiebelkorn focused on sprints, hurdles and relays.

"We are excited to have Coach Fiebelkorn join our program," said Roe. "He is a proven coach at the Division I level with a resume that includes NCAA qualifiers, Big Sky Champions, conference podium finishes, and multiple school records. Most importantly, Jeff's philosophy of developing the complete individual in the coaching process aligns with our values here at Butler.

"As a program, we put a heavy emphasis on our student-athletes competing their best in championship events. Jeff's technical acumen, knowledge in training theory, and focus on athlete development was the separator in the candidate search. Over the last four years, he consistently had his athletes performing their best at the Big Sky Championships."

In his four seasons at Idaho, Fiebelkorn has coached five NCAA West Preliminary qualifiers and two individual and two relay Big West Conference champions. He has coached 22 individual all-conference honorees and 11 all-conference relay teams. His student-athletes set seven school records. The women's and men's programs at Idaho posted Team GPAs of 3.78 and 3.62, respectively, in 2024, the highest in program history.

"I am honored to join the track and field and cross country programs at Butler University," said Fiebelkorn. "I am grateful to Coach Roe, and all those involved with the search committee, for having confidence in me and providing this amazing opportunity. Coach (Robby) Burns built the sprints, hurdles, jumps, and multis group into something special and I look forward to continuing a culture of excellence. I already feel supported and welcomed by the Bulldog community."

Prior to his arrival at Idaho, Fiebelkorn served in an assistant coaching capacity for two seasons at the University of Minnesota, Duluth where he worked with all speed and power events, primarily working to develop the sprints and hurdles group.

A native of Baxter, Minn., Fiebelkorn lettered in track and field from 2011-15 at Concordia College (Minn.). He graduated from Concordia College in 2015 and owns a B.S. Degree in marketing, an A.A. Degree in graphic design and an M.A. in coaching and athletic administration from Liberty University.

Fiebelkorn fills the role recently vacated by Robby Burns, who has taken a position outside of coaching.

"Beyond the school records, the BIG EAST Champions, and NCAA qualifiers that he produced during the decade he helped lead our program, Coach Burns positively impacted the lives of hundreds of student-athletes as both a track coach and a strength coach," said Roe. "We are indebted to his professionalism and his considerable work ethic. He will always be a great friend to the program. We look forward to witnessing his future successes as he transitions out of the coaching profession."
