Butler's Cybil Stillson and Addi Kooi led the Bulldog effort at the season-opening Redbird Fall Invitational, tying for 12^th at 224 (+8).
 
As a team, the Bulldogs finished third among the 16-team field at 897 (+33). Eastern Kentucky won the event at 897 (+15), one shot better than runner-up South Dakota. EKU shot an even-par 288 Monday, which was the best team round of the tournament.
 
Kooi, in her Butler tournament debut, had the best Monday round among the Bulldogs with a two-over 74. She had three birdies and shot a two-under 34 on the front nine of the 6,093-yard Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill. Kooi moved from a tie for 23^rd into the tie for 12^th with her Monday scorecard.
 
The Bulldogs were second in the team standings entering the final round following Sunday scores of 300 and 289. Butler shot a final-round 308.
 
Karra Tucker of Eastern Kentucky took medalist honors in leading the Colonels to the team title. She finished at three-under 213 behind a final-round 69 that was the best Monday score. Tucker was three shots ahead of runner-up Catie Nekola of South Dakota (216).
