Swimming 2025 First meet

Butler Completes Competition Against UIndy

| By:
The Butler swim team finished competition against the UIndy Greyhounds on Saturday afternoon in Indianapolis. Butler finished with 67.33 team points while the Greyhounds finished with 202.66 team points. Butler will return to action next Sunday as the Bulldogs will host the 17th Annual Butler Invitational. Butler will also recognize its senior class before the meet with a senior day ceremony.

Swimmer of the Meet: The coaching staff chose fifth-year senior Cotter Welch as the swimmer of the meet. Cotter has suffered several injuries and undergone at least three surgeries in the last two years. Despite all these obstacles, she was determined to come back for a fifth year, with the goal of competing with the team for the entirety of the season, which required her qualifying for the BIG EAST Conference meet at the end of our season. Today, all her hard work and dedication came to fruition, as she made the BIG EAST qualifying standard in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.71! It was a truly inspiring performance for her team to witness.
