Sutto and Kooi Sweep BIG EAST Golfer of the Week Awards

| By:
For the second time this fall, Butler swept the BIG EAST Golfer of the Week honors as Logan Sutto and Addi Kooi claimed the recognitions following medalist performances. The conference office made the announcement Thursday, Oct. 22.

The same Butler duo also earned BIG EAST Golfer of the Week honors Oct. 2 with Sutto also receiving accolades Oct. 15 earlier this fall. Freshmen Rachel Johnson (Oct. 8) and Nicholas Brooks (Sept. 17) have also been highlighted with BIG EAST weekly awards previously this fall.

Sutto earned medalist honors at the Dayton Flyer Invitational, finishing the tournament at 6-under-par 207. Sutto carded rounds of 70, 67 and 70 to claim his second individual title this season. Sutto held off St. Thomas's Miles Bollinger to post a one-shot victory.

Sutto paced the Butler men, leading the Bulldogs to the team title. The Bulldogs finished the 54-hole event at two-under 850, the only team in the field to finish under par.

This is the fifth BIG EAST weekly honor for the Monclova, Ohio, native (also Oct. 15, 2026; Oct. 2, 2026; April 7, 2026; and Oct. 1, 2025). Sutto shared this week's honors on the men's side with both Eli Weidmann from St. John's and Xavier's Ray Filter, who each also won tournaments this week.

Kooi led the Butler women to the team title at the Dayton Flyer Invitational, earning medalist honors with a 4-under par total score of 208.  On the men's side, Sutto also took first place at the Dayton Flyer Invitational, carding a 6-under total of 207.  Weidmann tied for the top spot on the leaderboard for St. John's at the Nassau Intercollegiate. Filter was victorious for Xavier at the Gateway Logistics Invitational, with a 6-under 204.

Kooi led the Butler women to the team championship at the Dayton Flyer Invitational by earning medalist honors. Kooi finished the tournament at 4-under-par 208. Kooi won the event by five strokes, thanks in large part to a second-round 66. Her tournament victory marked Butler's third individual title and Kooi's second over the five fall events for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs posted the lowest team round in program history, a 271 (-9) in the second round, to highlight their 54 holes on the NCR Country Club's North Course. Butler finished at 857 (+17); that was good for a 16-shot advantage over runner-up Eastern Kentucky.

This is Kooi's third BIG EAST weekly honor after previously being recognized by the conference Oct. 2, 2026 and Oct. 1, 2025.

Up Next: The Bulldog men will next compete at the Pearl at Kalauao Invitational on Nov. 4-5 in Hawaii. The Dayton Flyer Invitational served as the final tournament of the fall portion of the team's schedule for the Butler women, who will return to competition in February.
