The Butler women's swimming team finished fourth out of nine teams at the 2026 Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate hosted by Purdue. Freshman Maggie Dahl broke two school records in the meet, clocking a 23.17 in her leg of 200 Medley Relay which broke Audrey Gosnell's record in the 50 Free that stood for nine years. 
 
Dahl posted a time of 50.66 in the 100 Free, which broke the school record of 50.68 that was set by Kate Schilling last season. 
 
ON THE RECORD WITH ASSISTANT COACH KYLE HAFLICH
"Our girls had a great meet at Purdue for the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate. It is a fun meet, a short sprint meet, where a lot of swimmers get to see old teammates from past club and high school teams. As a whole group, we had positive results with a surprising amount of best times. We are in a really tough training block as a team, and their bodies are worn down, but I am pleased to know that we can still swim fast under these circumstances. We still have a couple weeks of tough training before we get some reprieve and see where we are at our mid-season meet."
 
"Maggie Dahl broke two school records today as a freshman. She broke the oldest record on the board, and actually obliterated it by three tenths of a second in the 50 Free. She came in to Butler ready to make a statement and she is already doing that. What makes it even better, is how hard of a worker she is, and how humble she is. She deserves those records, and it is only October. We will be seeing Maggie's name on the board plenty more times."
 
200 Medley Relay: 1:45.65 - 9th place

• Sarah Jones, Ashlyn Canale, Ava Whittaker and Maggie Dahl (23.17, new school record).

 
50 Free

• Dahl finished second in the event with a new program record time of 23.55.
• Ava Whittaker finished ninth with a time of 24.09. 

 
100 Free

• Dahl posted a time of 50.66 which earned her a first place finish in the event. Her time also set a new school record. 

200 IM 

• Kaya Robertson finished 10th with a time of 2:08.38.

 
25 Shootout

• Whittaker finished fifth overall. 

 
10 Person 500 Free Relay: 4th overall
